Basic QualificationsAt least 6 years experience working as an infrastructure engineer or developer on the Windows
Strong Core Java development experience in a Solaris/Red hat Linux environments
Strong technical skills in several of the following areas:
Object Oriented Programming
Database: IBM DB2 UDB ; Hibernate;
XML: Schemas/DTD, DOM XSL, XSLT,
Messaging: Point-to-Point, Pub/Sub
Scripting: Bash, perl, sed, awk, python, powershell
Misc: Ant, SVN, JIRA, Eclipse, Team City, JUnit, Crucible and other SDLC tools
Prior experience working with and integrating any alerting, monitoring or system management
technologies : Nagios, HP Open View , MOM, Tivoli, JMX, NetCool, SendTrap, SNMP
Fundamental understanding of secure application and environment design and management
Open source knowledge of frameworks and tools like hadoop, mongo DB, RRD,
Terracotta, Quartz,is preferred
Knowledge of system and networking monitoring products/tools is preferred
Able to work within a global team
Excellent soft skills and presentation skills
Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for design, development, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, configuration,
support and performance tuning of an in-house NAGIOS based high availability/performance server
and desktop monitoring solution.
Development of baseline monitoring capabilities as well as monitoring agent plug-in’s for business
applications and major products on the LINUX/UNIX/WINDOWS platform.
Supporting the rollout of the agent and new monitoring solution
Interfacing with application developers and infrastructure support teams to gain first hand
understanding of requirements and implementing solutions
Includes hands-on new development as well as support, maintenance or enhancement of existing
Development of products and systems to enable automation and help improve efficiency
Work closely with the US team and provide significant input into technical design of new solutions
applying current software design techniques.
Understand the regional dependencies and drive the regional requirements
Build and maintain relationships with various GS technology and business organizations.
Contribute to the technical understanding and promotion of new and existing standards, solutions,
Work in partnership with key stakeholders to design, implement, manage and support a highly
available and secure infrastructure.
Production support and troubleshooting of critical infrastructure applications may be required
