What Group Speaks 37 Languages and Attends 496 Schools? The Goldman Sachs Summer Intern Class

11 JUN 2018

Approximately 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students, from nearly 500 schools around the world, are joining Goldman Sachs as summer analysts and associates this year. They are diverse in their backgrounds as well as their interests and hobbies – globally, nearly half are women and more than 40% are STEM majors– and the class also includes a certified sommelier, former FBI intelligence analyst and two international figure skating champions, among others, and sit in each division of the firm in more than 20 offices around the globe.

Chairman and CEO Lloyd Blankfein welcomed the summer analysts and associates to the firm in a letter encouraging them to “dream up new ideas and make your voice heard, set goals and make meaningful progress towards them, and meet new people and have some fun along the way.”

The 10-week program provides interns with an opportunity to learn about the markets as well as the finance industry more broadly by working alongside our people on important projects. Interns receive access to senior leaders as well as assigned buddies, and participate in a range of training, networking and social events.
