Goldman Sachs Recognized in Gender Equality Awards

On 20 April, Goldman Sachs was given the Progression Award at the 2016 Business in the Community (BITC) Workplace Gender Equality Awards in London. The firm was recognized for the Diverse Professionals Sponsorship Initiative (DPSI), an effort that pairs high-potential diverse vice presidents with partner sponsors to help raise their profile, promote visibility with senior leadership and advocate for their career progression.

“This award is a tremendous recognition of our continued focus on supporting the career trajectories of women at the firm,” said Sally Boyle, international head of the Human Capital Management Division. “We know that this initiative has been instrumental in increasing the number of female managing directors in EMEA in recent years and has been a catalyst for building a culture of sponsorship.”

Goldman Sachs created DPSI to establish sponsor relationships that support the development and careers of high-performing women, black and LGBT vice presidents in EMEA.

“Goldman Sachs is creating a culture characterized by true equality. They have demonstrated an understanding that this means more than simply offering opportunity, being inclusive of different perspectives so that everyone can thrive,” said Helena Morrissey CBE, chair of BITC’s leadership team on gender equality.

In addition to the Progression Award, Goldman Sachs was once again named in the annual Times Top 50 Employers for Women list, published in partnership with Business in the Community on 21 April.
