High School ‘Girls Who Code’ Graduate Program at Goldman Sachs
Girls Who Code, a national nonprofit organization that helps high school girls explore academic and career opportunities in technology fields, recently had 20 of its students complete its intensive 8-week Immersion Program at Goldman Sachs.
During the full-time program, the girls received hands-on experience in programming fundamentals including web development and design, and mobile development. In addition to meeting women who work in the Technology Division of the firm to learn about what they do, each student was assigned a mentor from the firm's Women in Technology network and received individualized support and advice. Helping these girls to envision the possibilities of further study and careers in the field “is a transformative experience for our young women,” says Kristen Titus, executive director of Girls Who Code.
