Goldman Sachs Engineers Attend the Lesbians Who Tech and Allies Summit in San Francisco

Twenty Goldman Sachs employees attended the Lesbians Who Tech and Allies Summit in San Francisco earlier this month to meet fellow engineers and to talk about their innovative engineering work at the firm.  The Goldman Sachs contingent—from New York and Salt Lake City— included representatives from the firm’s LGBT and Women in Engineering employee affinity networks, as well as recruiters.

Adorned with the LGBT and Transgender Pride flags, the Goldman Sachs booth drew an energetic crowd and many job seekers and other talented techies.

Jackie Haynes, a managing director who heads the Technology Division’s modeling team, gave a TED Talk-style presentation titled Rapid Type-Safe Data Modelling.  Jackie showcased the modeling platform her team has built, which empowers engineers to define and evolve complex data domains.

The summit was a sold out event with over 100 speakers, including tech luminaries like the chief operating officer of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg and the chief brand officer of Uber, Bozoma Saint John . “The event was phenomenal,” said Khulan, an associate in Workplace Engineering. “I learned a lot from the talks, and we had great conversations at our booth about both how much the firm values diversity and our innovative work.”
