Then and Now: Zeina

05 JUL 2018

During the summer of 2015, we profiled interns from around the world in a blog series called My Summer at Goldman Sachs where they chronicled their individual experiences at the firm. As our new intern class is about to start their summer experience, we wanted to check in with our former interns from three years ago to get some of their reflections and updates on what they are doing now.

Let’s catch up with Zeina, an analyst in the Human Capital Management Division to see what she is up to now.

Internship: Global Mobility Services within the Human Capital Management Division, Salt Lake City

Current Role: Goldman Sachs University within the Human Capital Management Division, New York City

Path since the internship and blog series:

It has been 3 years since I began my first internship with Goldman Sachs, and it’s hard to believe both how quickly time has gone, and how much has changed. I first joined Goldman as an intern on the Global Mobility Services Team in Salt Lake City. Three years later, I have graduated from University, moved to Salt Lake as a full-time analyst on the Goldman Sachs University (GSU) Operational Strategy Team, and at the beginning of 2018, I relocated to join the GSU team in New York.

There has been a lot of change but over this time I’ve worked with the GSU team to bring together all Federation Divisions for a single analyst orientation experience, redesigned a learning program for new managers, and helped with preparations to welcome our 2018 class of full-time analysts. I’ve been able to forge some great relationships with colleagues around the world, and have made some friends who I know will be with me for life!

Question from a 2018 Summer Analyst: What is your favorite memory while working at Goldman?

Zeina: Half-way through the 2017 full-time analyst orientation one of the program participants came up to me and thanked us all for the work that we do. She discussed how nervous she was to join the firm, in the days leading up to orientation, and how the learning and programming we offered had helped build her confidence and excitement to hit the desk running. Being able to see this direct impact that we are able to make always makes my job worth it!
