Who Can Apply

This program is open to final year graduate and post graduate level students from any field of study, and is ideally suited to those with little or no work experience. While your discipline or major is not important, we’re looking for students with an outstanding record of academic achievement and an interest in the financial markets.

Recruitment Process 

Our recruitment dates are decided basis the placement season at respective schools. Students are intimated by the placement cell closer to the date.

Our recruitment process on campus can be broadly broken down into two stages:

  • First level screening where we shortlist candidates on basic selection criteria including their academic scores. Depending on the hiring division, the candidate might have to appear for a written test or group discussion as a part of this process.
  • Candidates shortlisted in the first level screening will then go through two or more rounds of personal interviews on campus.omplete application details and submit.

Preparation

Interviews

Our interview approach allows us to introduce you to many of the professionals with whom you may eventually work, and it enables you to make an informed decision about a career at Goldman Sachs. Your first interview with us will primarily focus on your past experiences and accomplishments and whether or not you are a fit with the firm. Second round and any subsequent interviews will be more technical in nature and we will continue to assess your compatibility with the firm.

You will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to support our businesses, and you will have unlimited access to the training and guidance to help you prepare for the next level.

Build Your Network

The analyst experience fosters the opportunity to connect with people who can help guide your career. Here you will build your professional network and interact with colleagues across divisions and regions. We have mentor programs and employee networks that you can join.

On the Job

You will quickly become an integral member of the team with your own responsibilities. Regardless of which area or business you join, you will be working directly with internal clients side-by-side with the experts in our firm.

ONGOING CAREER GROWTH

Development

Throughout the analyst years we provide you with ongoing developmental assignments and exposure to multiple disciplines that will supplement your day-to-day responsibilities. Goldman Sachs has a flat organizational structure, so it’s difficult to identify a typical career path. The breadth and depth of our firm provide you with a host of opportunities beyond the analyst position. Our formal mobility process encourages you to explore these opportunities both within and outside of your division and office location.

Training

We created Goldman Sachs University to help you at each stage of your career. Upon joining the firm you will receive formal training followed by division-specific or department-specific training. You will also receive ongoing training, based on your specific skill needs and interests, to bolster your professional development through learning in the workplace. We develop programs in a variety of innovative and challenging formats to guide you through everything from leading a client presentation for the first time to taking on new management responsibilities.

Feedback

Analysts are formally evaluated as part of the firm's annual Performance Review Process, which includes a self assessment as well as input from peers, managers and internal business partners. You will also participate in the Personal Development Planning process. Based on formal and informal feedback and your individual interests, this process helps you to establish your career goals and identify developmental opportunities within the firm.
