It’s exciting to be part of a growing office that provides you the opportunity to collaborate with people both here in Salt Lake City and in offices around the world.

I graduated from Arizona State in 2013 with a major in Finance and minor in European History. While these may seem to be on different ends of the educational spectrum, I have found them to be equally valuable. When studying history, you really learn to approach things within a broader social and economic context.  That training and perspective has allowed me to step back and think more thoughtfully about different challenges that may impact our clients.

The orientation and training program for new analysts in the Investment Management Division was an invaluable – and fun! – experience that lasted for six weeks. With 150 new analysts, it provided a platform for us to meet each other and form a strong network across the division. Even as we progress in our roles, we continue to keep in touch, support one another, and benefit from that close-knit community. It's been an incredible way to continually learn how the firm operates and how all of the teams are interconnected.

In the Investment Management Division, I'm on the Global Portfolio Solutions team, which helps large institutional clients think about how they manage their assets and is growing to offer fund solutions to individual investors as well. We help clients navigate the markets and identify strategies that fit their investment objectives.

My role is to help the team think about how we connect with clients. That starts with understanding what a client’s needs are and then working to communicate our capabilities and services to meet those needs. Whether it's educating clients about our products, helping to create innovative tools, or evaluating the market environment or regulations that may have an impact, there are many different things I can be involved in from day to day.

The teamwork is phenomenal — people are always willing to help you learn and understand different parts of the business and to invest in your success. Everyone makes a very conscious effort to help you put forth your best work, and I have found that to be true even from people I don’t work with on a regular basis.

I'm an avid trail runner and the weather here in Salt Lake City is excellent, so I have no excuse not to spend time outdoors! As it happens, I’m very lucky as there is an extensive trail network just beyond the office. I can reenergize, refocus, and enjoy the time.

It’s exciting to be part of a growing office that provides you the opportunity to collaborate with people both here in Salt Lake City and in offices around the world, and to have the chance to be involved with so many different and challenging initiatives.
