10,000 Small Businesses and Department for International Trade Collaboration and New Survey – “Starting Local, Going Global”

Boosting UK Small Business Growth

by Faryar Shirzad, Global Co-head of the Office of Government Affairs and Chief of Staff for EMEA, Goldman Sachs
and Mark Garnier, International Trade Minister for the Department for International Trade

Today in Birmingham, Goldman Sachs and the Department for International Trade are bringing together over 300 graduates of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme (10KSB) from every region of the UK.

This comes as a new 10KSB survey shows that half of the 10KSB graduates are exporting, with 71% planning to increase their exports over the next 12 months.

The survey also found that 60% of 10KSB businesses who export have sought advice for exporting. By collaborating together we aim to help businesses further their confidence and skills to access new global markets and expand their international footprint.
