Our involvement in the program is looked upon with great pride at Linda Tool.
Michael owns a Brooklyn-based second-generation family business that manufactures precision machined components and assemblies. He has worked at Linda Tool for 35 years and has grown the company from three to 25 employees.
Despite his experience and tenure, Michael felt the education program at LaGuardia Community College would provide the professional exposure he needed to grow the business. In his own words, he also wanted to give his business "a little polish."
Since the beginning of the program, he has achieved both ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100 Rev.B Certification, which are globally implemented standards for providing assurance about the ability to satisfy quality requirements.
Michael has also secured two new contracts, one of which is a long-term agreement through 2015 that will generate new monthly revenues. In addition, he has hired three new staff members and is looking to hire two more machine operators before the end of the year.
Michael has been an enthusiastic participant in the program. He reports: "We are very proud of our facility and the job that we do. Our involvement in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program is also looked upon with great pride at Linda Tool."
