The 10,000 Women program taught me the leadership, business management, networking, finance and marketing skills needed to succeed.

Business Overview

I run a Silk Production, which uses local materials to produce high-quality Afghan silk for sale at local markets. I joined the 10,000 Women program to learn how to expand my business capabilities.

Challenges

I did not have proficient business skills and needed help in generating a business plan. I was also looking to bolster the confidence needed to run my own business.

Results

The 10,000 Women program taught me the leadership, business management, networking, finance and marketing skills needed to succeed. Further, I have learned from my fellow scholars.

Since joining the program, I have developed my business plan, registered my business, received seed capital to expand my business and have hired 10 employees. I have started silk production and signed a contract with a major clothing company to provide their silk.

Future Goals

I would like to increase the quality of my production in order to compete more with my competitors. Further, I would like to expand my business to other provinces of Afghanistan and reach the international market.
