CNBC India - Winner: Best Performing Mutual Fund of the Year

GS Nifty Benchmark Exchange Traded Scheme (GS Nifty BeES) won the CNBC TV18 - CRISIL Mutual Fund Awards in the Index Fund category for the year 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010 respectively.

Eligibility Criteria & Methodology

In total, 11 schemes in year 2007, 12 schemes in year 2008, 13 schemes in year 2009 and 14 schemes in year 2010 were eligible for award universe.

Schemes present in all four quarterly CRISIL Mutual Fund Ranking for each calendar year were considered for the award. The award is based on consistency of the scheme's performance in the four quarterly CRISIL Mutual Fund Rankings released during the respective calendar year.

The individual CRISIL Mutual Fund Ranking parameter scores averaged for the four quarters, for each calendar year, were further multiplied by the parameter weights, as per the CRISIL Mutual Fund Ranking methodology to arrive at the final scores.

Reactions London Market Awards 2011 - Winner: Insurance Asset Manager of the Year

The Awards recognise the best insurance, reinsurance and broking teams in the London insurance market, as well as service providers and the market’s outstanding personalities.

Professional Pension Awards 2011 - Winner: Alternatives Manager of the Year

On Thursday 5th May, GSAM won ‘Alternatives Manager of the Year’ at Professional Pension’s UK Pension Awards, beating 6 competitors.

The UK Pensions Awards have now been running for over fourteen years. They are regarded as the industry's most prestigious accolades. Judges measure final submission against four set criteria: innovation, client communication, performance and service standards.

Professional Pensions (circulation 13,204 print, 18,000 online) is the UK’s leading weekly pension journal and its awards event was attended by almost 1,000 Institutional Clients, Consultants, Asset Managers and other advisers.

The award submission focused primarily on our HFS business and the range of new products and services we continue to offer clients including the new UCITS 3 DASP Fund and the Discovery Fund. We also identified the ACM ‘Auction Platform’ that was created to help distressed private equity, real estate and infrastructure owners exit their investments ahead of maturity. Our ongoing commitment to creating market leading, AIMS related thought leadership, in addition to Jim O’Neill’s regular Viewpoint and Strategy Series were also mentioned in the submission.

Asian Investor Investment Performance Awards 2011 - Winner: Manager of the Year

Started in 2001 to celebrate the excellence in investment performance by the fund managers in Asia Pacific, these awards are awarded on a quantitative and qualitative basis. First looking at statistics gathered from Mercer, Watson Wyatt and Lipper, Asian Investor then invites the top three performers to pitch for the awards they’ve been shortlisted for. The judging panel (consisting of Asian Investor’s editorial team) then picks a inner who best argues their case as to why they deserve to be awarded.

The Financial Communications Society held its 17th Annual Portfolio Awards event on May 12, 2011. The FCS Awards recognize creative excellence in financial services communications – including advertising, collateral, websites and public relations.
