Goldman Sachs Asset Management Appoints Philip Read

London 9 September, 2010 – Goldman Sachs Asset Management today announced the appointment of Philip Read as Senior Advisor to Global Portfolio Solutions (GPS), a provider of tailored portfolio advice and implementation as well as fiduciary and risk management solutions to large institutional clients.
Philip has extensive pensions industry knowledge and is currently Chair of the British Coal Staff Superannuation Scheme. Previously, he was the UK Pensions Manager and Chairman of the Investment Committee of Metal Box Pension Trustees Limited, responsible for determining and implementing the investment policy, as well as managing risk and performance measurement. Prior to Metal Box, Philip was a Director of Stanhope Pension Trust Limited and a member of the Investment Committee for General Electric Company’s pension plans in the UK, US and Canada.
