Update on Goldman Sachs’ Support for Hurricane Harvey Recovery Efforts

Following the firm’s announcement of $500,000 in support of relief efforts in the wake of the devastation wrought by Hurricane Harvey in southeast Texas, we have exceeded that amount, raising more than $620,000 through the generosity of our people, Goldman Sachs Gives and the Matching Gift Program.

These philanthropic dollars will continue to benefit a range of nonprofit organizations working in Texas, including Team Rubicon, the American Red Cross, Save the Children, Salvation Army and the Greater Houston Community Foundation’s Harvey Relief Fund. In addition, our teams are considering ways to ensure that long term support, in addition to immediate help, is available to all those affected, including homeowners and small businesses.

Our people are also focused on volunteering their time via the firm’s Community TeamWorks (CTW) initiative, including a series of projects in Houston as the city comes together to rebuild. We will work with YES Prep Public Schools, KIPP Houston, The Greater Houston Partnership and the Houston Independent School District to bring school supplies, uniforms and other essential items to severely impacted students and their families.

We thank our people for the concern and interest they continue to show in helping those affected, and will continue to monitor the situation in the Caribbean and Florida as Hurricane Irma moves northwest to ensure the safety of our people in the region and determine where our assistance can be most effective.
