Goldman Sachs Announces New Managing Directors


NEW YORK, October 23, 2003 -- The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE: GS) today announced that it has invited 136 individuals to become Managing Directors as of November 29, 2003, the start of the firm's fiscal year.

Henry M.
