Cord Cutting: The End of Television as We Know It?

The Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference is an annual gathering of leaders from the media and communications industries. This year’s conference was held on September 16 - 18 at Goldman Sachs headquarters in New York City, where participants discussed the key trends expected to shape these fields going forward, including industry convergence, wireless spectrum auctions and the shifting technology landscape.

A recurring theme this year was ‘cord cutting,’ where consumers are choosing cheaper and more flexible broadband television options over traditional cable and satellite services. In the video above, analysts Brett Feldman and Drew Borst of Global Investment Research at Goldman Sachs explore the implications for television providers, content producers and consumers.
