Published on26 MAY 2015

As part of Goldman Sachs’ $40 billion commitment to finance and invest in companies that promote clean technology, the firm recently developed the Japan Renewable Project Bond Trust, which is designed to expand financing opportunities for solar and other renewable energy projects. Toru Inoue, a vice president in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs, explains how this innovative financing technique will help bring clean energy developers together with investors and support Japan’s transition to a low-carbon future.

The Japan Renewable Project Bond Trust gives institutional investors the chance to invest in investment-grade, securitized, renewable energy bonds. And it will give clean energy developers access to the capital markets.
