Vendor Diversity

We strive to provide minority-owned, women-owned and veteran-owned companies with the opportunity to compete on a fair and equal basis for our business and, ideally, to expand and grow while working with us.

To do this, we leverage our industry association memberships, encourage the use of qualified businesses where opportunities exist and promote strategic partnerships.

Our formal vendor diversity program began in North America in 2000, expanded to Europe in 2005, and we continue to make progress in developing our global approach to vendor diversity. In North America, we are participating members and supporters of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, NY and NJ Minority Supplier Development Council, and the Women President’s Educational Organization. We are a member of WEConnect International the Minority Supplier Development Council – United Kingdom and the Australian Indigenous Minority Supplier Council.

When constructing our global headquarters in New York, more than $300 million was awarded to women and minority-owned businesses - making it the most successful project in the history of New York State’s Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise program. Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW), a New York nonprofit that works with unions to bring women into higher-paying jobs in construction trades, recognized Goldman Sachs with its Equity Leadership award for its diversity efforts in the construction of our headquarters building. 
 
As a firm, we take our reputation for excellence seriously and seek to align with business partners who share our commitment to quality. In selecting our vendors, we consider businesses that can supply us with the most cost-effective, reliable products and services. Prospective suppliers are evaluated on several criteria, including:

  • The quality of their products and services

  • Customer service

  • Pricing

  • Ability to assist us in meeting our business goals and

  • Environmental and social impact.

If you are a minority-owned (MBE), women-owned (WBE) and/or veteran-owned business (VOB) in North America or London and are interested in becoming a Goldman Sachs vendor, please complete the prospective diverse supplier form and return it via e-mail to vendor.diversity@gs.com. Your submission must include a current copy of your MBE or WBE certification by a recognized agency and/or VOB self-certification documentation. Note that submission of the form is for informational purposes and internal use only. It is not a guarantee of business and does not ensure "Approved" vendor status.

  • Is there a registration process for participating in Goldman Sachs’ Supplier Diversity Program? What is the procedure for registering my company?

    Yes—complete the attached prospective diverse supplier form and email to mailto:vendor.diversity@gs.com. Note that submission of the form is for informational purposes and internal use only. It is not a guarantee of business and does not ensure "Approved" vendor status.

  • Does my company have to be certified as an MBE, WBE or VOB business to participate in the Goldman Sachs Supplier Diversity Program? If so, which certifications are accepted?

    Goldman Sachs requires MBE and WBE certification from a recognized third party certification agency. In North America, these include the National Minority Supplier Development Council, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council and federal, state and local government agencies. In London, these include the Minority Supplier Development Council—UK and WEConnect Europe. Since there is no formal certification of veteran (VOB) status, self-certification documentation is acceptable, but remains subject to review and approval by Goldman Sachs.

  • What happens after I submit a diverse supplier profile to the Goldman Sachs Supplier Diversity Program? Will someone contact me?

    You will be contacted at Goldman Sachs’ discretion upon review of your prospective diverse supplier form. Inquiries providing products/services not currently sought will be maintained for future consideration.
