Sarah Smith has been an Executive Vice President of the firm since March 2017 and is Head of Global Compliance. She is a member of the Management Committee and serves on the Firmwide Reputational Risk Committee, Firmwide Client and Business Standards Committee, Firmwide Investment Policy Committee, Regulatory Findings Remediation Governance Committee and the Steering Committee on Regulatory Reform. Ms. Smith also serves as co-sponsor of the Disability Interest Forum.
Previously, she was the Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Goldman Sachs. Ms. Smith joined Goldman Sachs in 1996 as a vice president in Finance and was named Managing Director in 1998 and Partner in 2002.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Smith worked in the national and audit practices of KPMG in both London and New York and held several finance positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Ms. Smith previously served on the US Treasury Department’s Commission on the Auditing Industry. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Lighthouse Guild, a leading charity serving the needs of the blind and visually impaired.
She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
