Summer Internship 2018 Recap

28 AUG 2018

As the end of summer approaches we wish our summer analysts and associates farewell. Here’s a look back at some of the fun and memorable experiences of our Summer Intern Class of 2018 in photos from around the world.

Dinner with the Pros

Summer interns in India concluded their internship with a social mixer where they had the opportunity to dine with Bengaluru leadership.

Cooking Up a Storm

New York interns in the Securities Division visited the Institute of Culinary Education where they enjoyed a hands-on cooking class led by Chef Phil Hering and his colleagues. Interns and their peers in Human Capital Management took part in learning culinary techniques and creating dishes like crab cakes with dill crème fraiche.

Innovation Camp

Interns from our Operations Division in Warsaw attended Innovation Camp – a workshop run by our Business Architecture and Change Management team designed to improve critical thinking skills by challenging interns to be innovative as a team. Participants were required to build robots following a set of instructions but with a twist: teams were tasked with actually improving the instructions.

Engineering Expo

Our New York and New Jersey interns had the opportunity to network with each other and Engineering teams during our Engineering Expo. Throughout the day, interns learned about the breadth of technologies used across the firm through interactive demos and discussion panels.

Summer Social

Interns in Asia-Pacific attended networking events like rock-climbing and mini golf, getting an opportunity to meet others and have some fun.

Visit to CNBC

Some of our New York interns swapped the trading floor for the newsroom during an afternoon visit to CNBC. After an office tour, they enjoyed a live taping of CNBC’s Mad Money with host Jim Cramer.

Behind the Scenes

New York and Jersey City interns in the Services Division spent an afternoon exploring our global headquarters in New York. The tour was led by the Corporate Services and Real Estate Management team and highlighted the sustainable features of our building.

Giving Back

Throughout the summer, interns from across the globe spent a day away from the office participating in the firm’s team-based volunteer initiative, Community TeamWorks. This year, interns worked on a variety of projects that ranged from mentoring young people to restoring local parks.

Explore GS

The Explore GS series provided our interns with insights and advice from leaders across the firm. Speakers included Chairman and CEO Lloyd Blankfein and his successor David Solomon who shared their career stories, offered advice and participated in Q&As with the interns.
