Goldman Sachs was proud to be a Gold Level sponsor of the Black Solidarity Conference and host of a career talk with global head of Human Capital Management Edith Cooper.

The Black Solidarity Conference took place at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut on February 12. Seven hundred students from across the country gathered to analyze issues surrounding race and explore solutions to undertake on their respective campuses.

"Race is a complicated topic and we have a responsibility to engage in thoughtful dialogue,” Edith said at the career talk. “While there are no simple solutions, by having conversations about our personal experiences, not only do we find points of commonality we also foster an environment where different perspectives are embraced and valued. That is one of the important ways that we will get to inclusion.”

Goldman Sachs also took part in the conference’s career fair.

“For us to be competitive as a firm, we have to create an atmosphere where everyone can perform to his or her potential,” Edith said.
