A year ago, people were talking about the death of retail. But the reality? “We’re having a retail renaissance,” says Goldman Sachs Research’s Matt Fassler. Fassler has long held that survivors of eCommerce disruption would have to rethink their approach to having a physical storefront, a trend he’s seeing play out among management teams. Add in a strong consumer backdrop, inventory discipline, and continued innovation, and retailers’ “good moment should last for a while.”
