Sheila Patel is Chief Executive Officer of International Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) and Global Co-Head of the GSAM Client Business. She focuses on delivering GSAM's client solutions globally.
Ms. Patel serves on Firmwide Management Committee, European Management Committee, Firmwide Client and Business Standards Committee and the Goldman Sachs Leadership Development Initiative. She is also a member of the EMEA Inclusion & Diversity Committee and former senior advisor for the Investment Management Division and Securities Division Women's Networks.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Patel served as Co-Head of Equities Distribution in Asia, and before that, she was Head of US Derivative Sales and US Synthetics Sales in the Equities Division. She joined Goldman Sachs in 2003 as a Managing Director and was named Partner in 2006.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Patel was head of Trading Strategy with Morgan Stanley for seven years.
Ms. Patel is a board member of the Pacific Pension & Investment Institute, a member of 100 Women in Finance and a member of both the Global Leadership Committee and the Women in Leadership Initiative at Princeton University. She serves on the board of EcoHealth Alliance and is also a board advisor to GallopNYC. Ms. Patel has taught a special advanced seminar on Equity Derivatives at the Columbia Business School. She was named to Fortune Magazine's Most Powerful Women in Asia in 2015.
