At Goldman Sachs, the Women in Engineering (WE) Network champions the growth and advancement of our women engineers. Through outreach, recruitment, career development, and community network programming, educational sessions, and events, the network provides female engineers at the firm with opportunities and support to foster continued development at every level. Starting from the week of June 23, WE marked International Women in Engineering Day 2024 with network members and allies globally. The network organized a number of events to celebrate the excellence and contributions of women engineers at Goldman Sachs by highlighting their innovative work, discussing the obstacles they have overcome, sharing their diverse career trajectories, and honoring the spirit of allyship.

#EnhancedbyEngineering: WE Insights

Throughout the week, the network hosted regional panels where network leadership spoke to Goldman Sachs colleagues about their personal narratives as women in engineering, the obstacles they have navigated throughout their careers, the strength they’ve found through the WE network and allies, and the transformative impact of engineering on our workplaces and communities.

Innovation Spotlight: TechNet

In EMEA, the network invited Goldman Sachs colleagues to hear innovative ideas from women engineers through a TechNet session. The session included six presentations from women engineers at the firm covering a wide range of current technical topics from AI, Secdb/CTL integrated tooling, and Prime Risk systems architecture, to post execution trade booking design evolution and more. The presentations left colleagues with valuable insights into the diverse technologies used in various business solutions within Goldman Sachs.

Charting Career Paths

The network also hosted a panel focused on navigating and shaping professional journeys. The WE Network remains committed to illuminating the non-linear career paths possible at Goldman Sachs. Several Goldman Sachs Engineering leaders across India and EMEA shared their career paths towards Tech Fellow – experienced senior engineers who are able to provide credible advice, guidance, and input to enterprise scale engineering projects – demonstrating how they stay connected with technology and drive meaningful impact in delivering the best of Goldman Sachs to our clients and the broader community. Their personal career journeys offer a distinct look into how other engineers can lead their own careers with purpose, passion, and excellence.

Celebrating Allyship

We gathered to honor the collaborative spirit that drives progress within the WE Network and the engineering community. The theme, 'Celebrating Allyship,' underscored the importance of supportive partnerships across diverse groups. We gathered in various offices around the globe with women engineers and allies to participate in trivia themed around successful women from different industries, followed by a networking event. During this event, participants shared their personal journeys of allyship and growth.
