NEW YORK, May 10, 2007 – Lord Browne of Madingley has resigned as a member of the Board of Directors of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
Lord Browne has been a director of Goldman Sachs since the firm became a public company in May 1999. During that time, he has served with distinction as chairman of the Audit Committee and as a member of the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee and the Compensation Committee.
