Esta Stecher is Chair of the Board of Directors of Goldman Sachs Bank USA and the Board of Directors of Goldman Sachs International Bank. After earning her law degree at Columbia University, she began her career as an attorney at Sullivan & Cromwell, becoming partner in 1990, and subsequently Head of that firm’s Tax Group. Ms. Stecher joined Goldman Sachs in 1994 as a Partner and Head of the Tax Department. In 2000, she was named General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Goldman Sachs, serving as Co-Head of the global legal organization for more than 10 years. Ms. Stecher was Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs Bank USA from May 2011 until June 2016, when she was named Chair of the Board.
Ms. Stecher is a member of the firm’s Management Committee, Chair of the Board of Directors of Goldman Sachs Bank USA, Chair of the Board of Directors of Goldman Sachs International Bank and Co-Chair of the Executive Working Group on Compensation Policy. Ms. Stecher serves on the Firmwide Client and Business Standards Committee and Firmwide Reputational Risk Committee and is a member of Regulatory Reform Executive Leadership.
Ms. Stecher is a trustee of Columbia University and a member of the Dean’s Council of Columbia Law School. She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
