"I lead our Consumer Retail Cross Markets Group in EMEA, which was founded in 2019 and continues to be one of the key growth drivers for the firm. We cover mid-market consumer retail companies throughout Europe. For many of these clients, our team establishes the first connection with Goldman Sachs. We aim to build long-term relationships and generate new business opportunities for our clients and the firm. Given our focus on new (and often high-growth) clients, there is a real entrepreneurial spirit amongst our teams, which I find to be really dynamic and motivating. \r\n \r\nI’m proud of the way our teams continuously deliver for our clients. We aim to be part of some of the most significant moments in our clients’ careers, and it’s a real privilege to get a front row seat to these milestones. Our strengths as a firm come from the breadth and strength of the advice and solutions we offer our clients. While any one individual may be their introduction to the firm, they are quickly brought into the full Goldman Sachs network – with many product experts on all sorts of finance-related topics.[insert period] \r\n \r\nOne of the things that stands out the most at GS is the people, and the investment we put in our colleagues. I believe our commitment to our people is second to none. I joined as a lawyer with a limited background in finance – but the people around me invested in me and helped me develop. I aim to pay this forward to new joiners in my team and around Global Banking and Markets. This culture of apprenticeship is one of our core values. \r\n \r\nI’m based in Amsterdam but lead a pan-European team. Amsterdam is a great hub with brilliant access to our clients across European markets. It’s really valuable to have our local presence, whilst also benefiting from the global scale and reach of the firm. Having been with the firm for over a decade, I consider the connections I have built with many of my colleagues across the globe to be invaluable. \r\n \r\nOutside of work I focus on my family, and health and wellbeing. I used to play professional basketball, which taught me a discipline that I carry through to both work and personal life. I truly enjoy my job, and staying fit enables me to perform and drive our business with energy. \r\n"
