Interests: Creating new fragrances as a personal project having completed a Perfumery course
I first learned about Goldman Sachs whilst at college through the New Analyst Programme. After successfully applying I was very nervous as it would be my first ‘real job’ following college but upon joining, the firm immediately acknowledged this challenge and created specific pathways to help navigate through the transition.
I have a huge personal interest in UX and user development, knowing I can have a direct impact in developing change for my colleagues to create better efficiencies and enhancements really excites me. I’m a part of the Engineering team in Warsaw focused on creating user interfaces for colleagues across the firm. As a front-end developer, I love the fact we have regular opportunities to consult on aspects with design people as well as UX design elements.
As an engineering employee I collaborate a lot with people from different areas of the business and geographies. Working for a global firm I find myself with colleagues and friends around the world. The global footprint of the firm has taught me just how valuable it is to grow by widening my personal network. We’re also super engaged locally, engaging in various tech projects and we are continuously finding new opportunities to collaborate with our Warsaw engineering community through Meetups.
When I think about adding value, I think about delivering the best UX experience.
I put a concerted effort into really understanding the needs of our people and what they want to do. I gain satisfaction in being able to provide our colleagues with the tools they need to enhance their output.
I volunteer with Code for Girls, a programme Goldman Sachs works with to help women and girls get into coding. I was excited to be a mentor for programme participants and am extremely proud to see the intern I supported now gain a full-time position at the firm. When first joined the firm, many of my colleagues had a Computer Science background, and since I didn't, this was something I felt self-conscious about. With lots of research and support from my colleagues I soon found my feet and now I am so happy to be able to share my personal experiences through Code for Girls to help give something back.
For anyone looking for a role in Engineering, Goldman Sachs is truly a great place to work. There are so many opportunities and challenges but also incredibly supportive colleagues, knowledge sharing sessions and room for growth. There is an open environment to gain support from others when in need. By working in a supportive, collaborative environment, teams can deliver quality solutions.
