Update on the format of your Summer Internship

We hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy.

As emphasized in our previous communication - the primary goal of our program is to offer you a world class and rewarding internship experience.

We are encouraged by the progress of vaccine rollouts across the globe and there is a growing sense of optimism to work together in the office regularly again, where safe to do so. Ours is a collaborative, innovative and apprenticeship based culture – there are many ways to experience that but we found that the most enriching way to do that is in-person together. With this in mind and after careful consideration, the 2021 Goldman Sachs Summer Internship Program will be hosted in person for those of you able to travel to your internship office safely. All interns will start with a one-week virtual training program, regardless of location.

We want to emphasize that the safety and wellbeing of our people, including our incoming summer interns, is at the forefront of all our decisions. We recognize that the personal nature of COVID-19 has affected all of us in different ways and want to assure you that we are dedicated to providing you with a valuable experience. Also, due to local government guidelines and travel restrictions, an in-person component may not be possible in every location but we encourage those that can to please prepare to be near the office of your internship ahead of the start of your virtual training program.

In locations where it is safe to do so, we have prepared our facilities and started welcoming more colleagues back, while continuing to adhere to our health safety protocols and to evolving guidance to sustain a safe working environment for our people. Some of the measures we’re taking to protect our people include enhanced cleaning, mask wearing, social distancing, daily health attestations, temperature screening and testing in certain locations. All applicable safety protocols will be shared at least 1 month prior to your start date. In the meantime, we encourage you to stay connected on NovoEd and keep an eye out for a firsthand look at what it’s like to come into some of our offices as well as information on upcoming virtual townhalls with CEO David Solomon and Global Head of Human Capital Management Bentley de Beyer. The Goldman Sachs Recruiting Team will continue to communicate updates frequently as we finalize your onboarding arrangements.

Thank you for your understanding as we all navigate this challenging and evolving period. If you have any questions, please reach out to your recruiting contact listed on NovoEd.

We look forward to you joining us this summer.
