Bengaluru Office Awarded For Excellence in Gender Inclusivity
NASSCOM recognized the firm for its new Maternity Management Program, which supports expecting and new mothers.
Goldman Sachs India’s Maternity Management Programme was recognised by NASSCOM as the ‘Best Programme for Excellence in Gender Diversity in Companies with less than 5000 Employees’ from a pool of 109 companies. V. Bunty Bohra, chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs Services in India accepted the award at the Diversity and Inclusion Summit 2016 held in Bengaluru on 15 March. He was joined by Rupa Parasuram, vice president, Benefits and Wellness and Mridula Sankhyayan, vice president, Global Leadership and Diversity.
The firm also participated in a panel discussion highlighting the best practices of winning organizations.
“The award comes at a time when the programme is nearing its first anniversary. This past year we have connected with more than 100 women in various stages of maternity and we are proud to have supported them during this exciting and transformative time in their lives. We are looking forward to expanding the programme to include fathers, allowing us to engage with all expecting and new parents at the firm,” Rupa says.
“The Maternity Management Programme has been appreciated by employees across the firm, and we will continue to stay focused on supporting our employees through this major life transition. This award is an encouragement as we increase the momentum and reach of this programme,” said Grant Eldred, managing director, HCM, India.
The Maternity Management Programme, which launched in April 2015, offers a comprehensive range of resources and services that support expecting and new mothers. The programme offers a dedicated parent resource coordinator onsite, mentoring, personalised coaching, health and nutrition consultations, antenatal fitness programmes, lactation consultations and manager sensitisation programs. The programme is complemented by the firm’s newly expanded onsite Children’s Centre.
