Apply: LaunchPAD Career Readiness Program for High School Students

10 MAR 2016

Goldman Sachs LaunchPAD helps pave the way to academic and career success for Black, Hispanic/Latino and Native American high school students through experiential learning and mentorship.

The program, which is open for applications until April 17, begins on July 16 with a week of classes at New York University where students are introduced to the college experience, take introductory business courses from NYU professors, and connect with Goldman Sachs professionals. Students attend nearly a dozen events at Goldman Sachs on careers in financial services during the three year program, as they apply and adapt to college during their freshman year.

Students who started the LaunchPAD program last year recently returned to Goldman Sachs to hear from senior leaders, attend learning sessions, and connect with their mentors.

“My guidance counselor told me I shouldn’t bother applying to MIT but my mentor told me to go for it. He gave me the confidence to apply,” Waheed said, about how his mentor has supported him since beginning the program.

“My mentor helped me make a study schedule for the ACTs and texts me to check in at study time,” added Nicole.

LaunchPAD students will have the opportunity to transition into the firm’s Undergraduate Camp as college freshmen, and then may apply for a sophomore summer internship, with up to six years of guidance from Goldman Sachs professionals.
