Introducing the Goldman Sachs Legal Insight Programme in London

28 MAR 2019

The EMEA Legal Department at Goldman Sachs, together with founding partners Hogan Lovells, Hyatt, and EY, are delighted to offer a UK-first cross-sector job shadowing and skills training programme for LGBT+ law students graduating in 2021 or 2022. The programme will be held in firms across London in June and July 2019.

The founding partners strongly believe there is an important message to be spread amongst LGBT+ professionals that hiding one’s LGBT+ identity in a professional setting is completely unnecessary to advance in a career. The programme aims to show LGBT+ students—who may have preconceptions about barriers to careers in the City of London—open doors and an abundance of career opportunities which they may have never thought possible.

For this first year of the programme, it is being offered to first-year LGBT+ law students, and will run for 3½ weeks over June and July 2019.  Participants will gain access to top firms in the City of London and learn through skills sessions and rotational job shadowing at each of the programme’s founding partners.  There will be added support through mentoring relationships.

Goldman Sachs, along with the rest of the founding partners, take great pride in our commitment to diversity and inclusion and our belief that focusing intensely on diverse talent leads to innovative new ideas.
