Since pioneering the first program of its kind in the wake of 2008, Goldman Sachs has sought to listen and continuously innovate to increase the number of opportunities in this space and recruit the best talent regardless of resume gaps.

This year we’re proud to be expanding our offerings within the Returnship space. We have reimagined the existing program, focusing on providing a clear path to full time employment and putting the power back in the hands of the professional. Goldman Sachs is dedicated to meeting you where you are and helping you get to where you want to be.

Our 14th annual Returnship program continues to be the preeminent program for experienced professionals who have been out of the workforce for two or more years. This program offers a supportive and structured path to re-entering the workforce after a career gap.

In addition, we are introducing the COVID-19 Career Relaunch Initiative as a direct path to re-entry specifically for those who left the paid workforce due to the COVID-19 pandemic, during or after March 2020.

2022 Goldman Sachs Returnship

The Goldman Sachs Returnship program is designed for talented professionals looking to restart their careers after an extended absence from the workforce. Our reimagined structure is not a ‘one program fits all’ approach, instead we focus on meeting professionals where they are.

This paid, six-month fellowship offers opportunities in a variety of divisions and locations to strengthen technical skills, provide access to professional development and explore the opportunities available at Goldman Sachs.

As a participant, you will:

  • Experience six-months of on the job learning and exploration with a diverse community of professionals from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Access the vast network of resources at Goldman Sachs through continual leadership development, support and mentorship from a dedicated Returnship program team
  • Feel secure in the knowledge that top performers will receive advocacy and support as they navigate the transition to full time employment
  • Participate in intentional sessions focused on building community and creating a seamless transition experience back into the workforce

Eligibility: Previously employed professionals who have been out of the paid workforce for two or more years and are looking to return.

2022 Goldman Sachs COVID-19 Career Relaunch Initiative

New this year, we are excited to announce the COVID-19 Career Relaunch Initiative. This effort reflects the firm’s commitment to embrace the professional resilience we have seen post 2020 and will focus on those who left the paid workforce, voluntarily or involuntarily, as a direct result of the pandemic. During the “Pandemic Exodus,” 1.79 million women and 1.75 million men left the labor force*. Goldman Sachs will be making a concerted effort to ensure this population has access to full-time open roles at the firm.
