"After finishing the programme, my business has grown from one site to three, and has exponentially grown in terms of numbers and revenue."
Business Overview
Founded in 2011, Miss Macaroon is a social enterprise that makes and sells macaroons. The bakery trains young people, often care leavers, who in turn benefit from pastry chef training, work experience, confidence building and on-going mentoring.
Challenges
Miss Macaroon had grown its customer base and team, however it was hard finding the right people as an entrepreneurially minded social enterprise with charitable aims at its core.
Results
After 10,000 Small Businesses UK, the business hired new staff and expanded its retail presence, increasing its spotlight on the business’ social aims. This had the effect of attracting the appropriate talent, who have compatible values and skills to drive further growth.
