10,000 Small Businesses Roundtable in Chicago

Rahm Emanuel, mayor of Chicago, and Gary Cohn, Goldman Sachs president and chief operation officer, met with the 37 Chicago-area small business owners selected to participate in 10,000 Small Businesses.

The roundtable discussion on February 13, 2012 provided participants with insight into leadership for the city and Goldman Sachs as well as allowed the mayor to hear firsthand how the program is influencing Chicago’s small businesses.

Goldman Sachs launched the Chicago 10,000 Small Businesses program in 2011 with a $25 million investment, which included $20 million to support lending to small businesses and $5 million for training. Read more about the Chicago program.

The 37 Chicago small business owners represent a range of industries including manufacturing, engineering firms, bus/travel companies, construction companies, technology and security firms, health and fitness companies, food manufacturers, restaurants and medical services.
