Carbonomics: The third American energy revolution

The US Shale revolution is entering its age of maturity and eventual decline. In GS Research’s view, the U.S. can no longer rely on it to carry this key cost competitive advantage into the next decade: it needs another energy revolution to maintain its energy cost leadership. In this report, Goldman Sachs Research analysts estimate that renewable technologies can deliver twice the scale of energy produced by shale and leverage their Carbonomics framework to model this renewable revolution, unpicking the key technologies that can drive a $3 trn infrastructure investment over the coming decade.
