Goldman Sachs Provides HK$8.8 Million in Grants to 15 Non-Profit Organizations to Support COVID-19 Relief in Hong Kong

Funding directed at helping those most affected by the pandemic

HONG KONG, April 7, 2022 -- Goldman Sachs has provided HK$8.8 million in grants to 15 non-profit organizations to support their work in helping vulnerable groups in the Hong Kong community most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The funds, raised by senior employees of the firm, have largely been directed towards providing food, essential supplies and other support to parts of the community that are particularly in need. Recipients include:

  • Food Angel: providing about 243,000 meals supporting more than 10,000 individuals
  • Society for Community Organization: providing food and essential supplies to 2,000 individuals and families in difficult living conditions
  • Feeding Hong Kong: contributing to equipment and warehouse space for food storage and transportation, and supporting staff in directing and serving the food

The funding was provided through Goldman Sachs Gives, a donor-advised fund through which current and retired partners of the firm recommend grants to qualifying non-profit organizations.

Goldman Sachs is also matching donations made by employees to registered non-profits in support of their work on COVID relief in Hong Kong.
