Emelda’s passion for entrepreneurship stems from her childhood, growing up with a father that owned his own factory while also developing a passion for writing short stories as a child. During her time at university in South Africa, Emelda began collecting magazines in that country, but could not find any similar media outlets in Tanzania.

Since establishing Bang! Magazine in 2004 Emelda has gone onto feature in multiple news outlets while also being placed in the Top 50 Women in Management Africa in 2021. From the Growth Fellowship, Emelda gained more mentorship around entering the online space, expanding her business and how to better access to equipment.
