NEW YORK The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE: GS) announced today that it has hired Alison J. Mass as a managing director. She will lead Goldman Sachs’ effort to deepen and extend relationships with major institutional and corporate clients globally, reporting to Robert J. Hurst, Vice Chairman.

Ms. Mass joins Goldman Sachs from Merrill Lynch, where she headed that firm’s global relationship management group. Prior to that position, she held senior institutional equity sales and investment banking roles. Ms. Mass received her undergraduate degree and her graduate degree in Masters of Business Administration from New York University.
