The most rewarding aspect of my role is seeing clients’ issues resolved with a win-win solution, the successful completion of strategic initiatives that improve the platform and win new business.

Growing up, I have always wanted to pursue a career in science and was accepted to study Food Chemistry for my undergrad. But when thinking about life after graduation and the career options, I realised I did not want to be in a laboratory and would miss having interactions with others. A chance meeting with a family friend right in the heart of the Singapore’s Central Business District (CBD) made me realise I wanted to be part of the fast-paced buzz of financial services.

I joined Goldman Sachs in London as an experienced hire in 2010. I was encouraged by a headhunter to have a coffee chat with the Goldman Sachs team, and I was so impressed by the quality of the people and the depth of our engaging conversations after meeting the hiring manager and a few of the team members. In my 15 years at the firm, I have been in four different roles across two offices (London and Singapore). I started my fifth role at the firm as a private wealth advisor in August 2025 which I am thoroughly excited about.

We have two offices in Singapore, and I have been fortunate enough to work in both buildings. I’m currently located in One Raffles Link which is the Civic District and is a real blend of history, culture and modernity. Our other office is at Tanjong Pagar which houses colleagues in control functions and is an extension of the main CBD. The area is a lively mix of mix of old and new, and you’ll see standalone eateries in conserved shophouses and skyscrapers. Since moving back to Singapore in 2012, I was able to witness the firm’s growing presence here across various roles and functions. The culture of the Singapore offices is a good blend of work and play. We thrive on genuine support and shared success. You will find teams celebrating milestones together, bonding over a good lunch spot find or sharing snacks from their overseas trip.

As a business manager for Private Wealth Management in Southeast Asia & Australia, my role is a mix of a COO, Project Manager and Strategy Partner, with an aim to ensure my private wealth advisors run their businesses smoothly and strategically. I lead our client support professionals to ensure everything behind the scenes works well, our clients are well served, and risk is managed effectively.

I enjoy being in a multifaceted role and dealing with challenges across a wide range of topics. Skillsets required are the ability to multi-task, prioritise and arrive at decisions quickly on certain issues. The most rewarding aspect of my role is seeing clients’ issues resolved with a win-win solution, the successful completion of strategic initiatives that improve the platform, and winning new businesses. My day usually starts with reviewing my mailbox to ensure day-to-day operations and approvals are granted timely. A large part of my day is being involved in meetings on dissecting issues, strategic planning, implementation and team management.

Integrity and excellence are foundational to my line of work; these are daily operating principles that build trust across other business partners and impact long-term working relationships and the firm’s reputation. I am proud to say after 15 years at the firm, these values are core across the business and are evident in the way we look at issues. We always apply the same high standards to everything we do for our clients.

I’m most proud of Goldman Sachs’ culture of striving for excellence and teamwork. We are focused on ensuring the best execution and devising comprehensive solutions for every issue we encounter, while working collaboratively as a team and contributing diverse expertise and perspectives to solve challenges.
