Day in the Life

Here, I work towards a larger purpose

No two days are the same…being on a new team that is building an innovative fintech product targeted to consumers, most days are filled with meetings to prioritize work, review status of projects, identify and build processes and procedures, enhance systems and test functionality in different environments, prepare for committee approval meetings and governance forums, the list goes on.

Morning
  •  Lead a launch readiness meeting

  •  Review materials for Internal Audit

  •  Plan upcoming women’s network event

  •  Coffee break

Afternoon
  • Review latest financials

  •  Draft an invitation to apply for a new product

  •  Finalize a committee memo

  •  Team huddle

Evening
  • Go to a yoga class

When I’m not at my desk during the day…

I might be in a committee meeting discussing the Analyst Impact Fund (an initiative I helped build from the ground up in 2016) or in our team room monitoring real-time metrics around product engagement, system performance, servicing, etc.

Skills to be successful in my role…

Effective project and stakeholder manager, ability to synthesize and stay organized amidst competing priorities.

Best advice I’ve received at GS…

Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone and take on a new challenge – it’s the best way to grow. One way I have done this is by exploring different divisions and teams – from starting my career in Human Capital Management, moving to the Executive Office and then moving to Consumer and Investment Management.

How I’d describe my team dynamic…

My team is what makes me most excited to come to work every day. We are collaborative and supportive of one another, and we have our laughs along the way.

Who I am makes me better at what I do…

Every year, I help facilitate our Green Chimneys “Dear Santa” letter gift drive and I dress up as Mrs. Claus when we visit the school to distribute gifts – it’s always such a fun and rewarding day to see the smiles we bring to the children’s faces. Last year I also participated in Women’s Career Strategies Initiative where I built relationships with peers across the firm and learned about the importance of having a growth mindset and executive presence, among other things.

Affinity networks, which enable me to connect with colleagues throughout the firm on interesting and important topics that we may not otherwise have the opportunity to discuss in our day to day.
