Goldman Sachs’ culture is competitive, but it’s about being competitive as a team and I love that and it’s what keeps me here.

My mum clipped a newspaper advert from the firm looking to recruit people from diverse backgrounds with language and project management skills, that’s how I first came to Goldman Sachs. I was an experienced Analyst without a finance background and alongside the job requirements, I was initially attracted by the heritage and success of the firm. I was fascinated to see the firm was equally interested in people’s values, skills and qualities as well as your depth of financial knowledge.

In 2019 I relocated to Germany to help further build our Operations team, coming shortly after returning from maternity leave, being part of the project to grow such an important entity for our clients and our teams to become a key European hub is something I’m incredibly proud of. I’ve never seen anything like it, seeing the whole One GS culture really come through and to be able to do this straight after Maternity leave was amazing.

I now also lead the Women’s Network in Frankfurt and I am so proud of the immense efforts of colleagues that have helped to make the network a success. What started out as a small network in a small office has now grown to one of the leading networks at a key European hub for the firm.

Goldman Sachs’ culture is competitive, but it’s about being competitive as a team and I love that and it’s what keeps me here. We compete as one, that’s as a whole company not just as a single team. Teamwork and having colleagues around the world and locally that I can rely on for support and teamwork is so important, Goldman colleagues compete together and take on challenges head on. We don’t rest on our laurels; we are always looking for what’s next!
