What was it like moving to Dallas?
I moved with my wife and two young daughters last year, and we’ve been enjoying it so far!
What’s it like working here?
One of the cool things about working in our Dallas office is the number of team members who – like me – have come from different regions. Compared to the city of London where I started my Goldman Sachs career, Dallas seems to be a city made up of people who have moved here from another place. The “how long have you been in Dallas?” question is a great ice breaker when getting to know new people. My team is new to Platform Solutions in Dallas, so it’s been great to bring on colleagues from many different backgrounds.
Your favorite thing about the office?
The social committee puts on fun events to meet new colleagues. Some of my favorite events include a Pickleball tournament and a team building event at Top Golf!
Favorite places to eat?
Pecan Lodge or anywhere else with good BBQ! A bit further out of town, we found Nita and Glen’s BBQ on the way back from a trip to Austin—which was as good as I’ve found anywhere!
Favorite things to do?
I love running around White Rock Lake and taking the kids to the playground at the Dallas Arboretum. We’ve also had visitors enjoy the Fort Worth Stockyards historic district—great for families and nightlife!
Any “must-see” places?
I’ve really come to love spending time outdoors in Dallas. There are plenty of great hiking trails as you go north, and Grapevine Lake area is a personal favorite.
