Carey is global treasurer of Goldman Sachs and a member of the Management Committee. She is also a member of the Conduct Committee and Enterprise Risk Committee and co-chair of the Firmwide Asset Liability Committee.

Previously, Carey was global head of Investor Relations and chief strategy officer. Prior to that, she was chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs Bank USA and deputy treasurer of Goldman Sachs. Before that, she served as chief financial officer of Goldman Sachs Bank USA. Earlier in her career, Carey was head of the Americas Financial Institutions team in Credit Risk.

Carey started at Goldman Sachs in 1999 as a summer associate in Credit Risk in New York and rejoined the firm in 2000 in the same group. She was named managing director in 2009 and partner in 2016.

Prior to joining the firm, Carey was a volunteer in the US Peace Corps in Guatemala, providing micro-credit assistance to local women.

Carey serves as chair of the Board of Directors for NeighborShare.

Carey earned a BA in Business in 1995 from Whittier College and an MBA from Columbia Business School in 2000.
