
François-Xavier (FX) is chairman of Goldman Sachs EMEA and chairman of Investment Banking. He also focuses on the firm’s One Goldman Sachs coverage of significant family-owned enterprises, as well as family offices around the world. Additionally, FX serves as co-head of the international office heads group. He is a member of the Management Committee, European Management Committee, Investment Banking Services Leadership Group and the Senior Leadership Council.
From 2014 to 2017, FX served as global co-head of the Consumer Retail and Healthcare Group. He was head of Investment Banking Services in EMEA from 2011 to 2013 and head of the Financing Group in EMEA from 2008 to 2011. Before that, FX was chief operating officer of the Investment Banking Division, based in New York, and from 2002 to 2007, he served as head of Investment Banking for Switzerland. FX joined Goldman Sachs in 1993 in London and was named managing director in 2003 and partner in 2004.
FX is a member of the Board of Advisors of the International Rescue Committee and is a member of the Young Global Leaders Network of the World Economic Forum.
FX graduated with distinction from Hochschule St. Gallen and Community of European Management Schools in 1992.
