John Mallory

John is global co-head of Wealth Management. He serves on the Management Committee, the Firmwide Client Franchise Committee, the Goldman Sachs Bank AG Board of Directors and the Wealth Management Capital Committee. Previously, John was co-head of global Private Wealth Management (PWM). Before that, he was head of Americas PWM and global head of the Institutional Client Solutions business within PWM, which provides outsourced CIO solutions for nonprofits and other institutional clients. Previously, John was head of the Investment Management Division’s West Region, including PWM in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. Earlier in his career, he was head of PWM for the Florida region, including coverage of Latin America. Before assuming management responsibilities, John led a New York-based PWM team. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1998 and was named managing director in 2000 and partner in 2012.

Before joining the firm, John worked at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in New York and Hong Kong.

John is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Thacher School. He is former vice chair of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, where he served on both the Executive Committee and as chairman of the Finance and Investment Committee. John is also a former trustee of the John Thomas Dye School, where he served as Investment Committee chair and a member of the Executive Committee.

John earned an AB from Harvard University.
