Josh is global head of risk for Global Banking & Markets (GBM). He is co-chair of the GBM – Public Risk Committee and the Firmwide Market Conduct Risk Council, and serves on the Management Committee, Firmwide Enterprise Risk Committee, Firmwide Asset Liability Committee, Regulatory Oversight Committee, and the Firmwide Financial Crime Compliance Committee.

Prior to his current role, Josh was chief strategy officer and head of financial risk for Global Banking & Markets (GBM) – Public. Previously, he was head of trading strategy, and before that, was global co-head of Interest Rate Products Trading and co-head of US Interest Rate Products while supervising the Global Short Term Macro and Global Repo Businesses. Earlier in his career, Josh was head of US Linear Rates trading which included government bonds, inflation products and interest rate swaps. He was the firm’s first dedicated Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities market maker. Josh joined Goldman Sachs in 2001 as an analyst focusing on the structuring and marketing of derivative products, having been a summer analyst in 2000. He was named managing director in 2009 and partner in 2012.

Josh earned a BS in Mathematics and a BA in Economics, summa cum laude, from Duke University in 2001.
