Pete Lyon

Pete Lyon is Global Co-Head of the Capital Solutions Group within Global Banking & Markets, and is a member of the Management Committee.

Mr. Lyon joined Goldman Sachs in 1990 as an Analyst in Debt Capital Markets within the Investment Banking Division (IBD) until departing for graduate school in 1993. In 1995, he rejoined the firm in the Leveraged Finance Group (LFG) to focus on acquisition financings for financial sponsor clients. From 1998 to 1999, Mr. Lyon served as the LFG Business Unit Manager. In 2000, he assumed responsibility for private equity client relationship management in the Financial and Strategic Investors Group (FSIG). In 2008, Mr. Lyon relocated to Dubai to lead IBD client coverage in the Middle East and North Africa region. He returned to New York in 2010 and led IBD client coverage strategy in the Executive Office through 2011.

In 2012, Mr. Lyon rejoined FSIG to serve as Americas Co-Head and served on the Firmwide Capital Committee in 2015. He was Co-Head of Investment Banking Services (IBS) in the Americas from 2015 to 2016 and a member of the IBS Leadership Group from 2010 to 2016. From 2016 to 2017, Mr. Lyon served as Co-Head of Equity Capital Markets and was Co-Head of the Americas Financing Group from 2017 to 2018. From 2018 to 2019, he was Co-Head of the Global Technology, Media and Telecom Group. Mr. Lyon was Global Head of the Financial Institutions Group and FSIG from 2019 to 2025 and served on the Firmwide Client Franchise Committee from 2022 to 2025. He was named Managing Director in 2003 and Partner in 2006.

Mr. Lyon serves on the Board of Directors of Student Sponsor Partners, a New York-based charitable group.
