Goldman Sachs Announces New Managing Directors

NEW YORK, October 19, 2005 -- The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE: GS) today announced that it has invited 209 individuals to become Managing Directors as of November 26, 2005, the start of the firm’s fiscal year.
