(NYSE:GS) today announced that Daniel Marcu has joined the firm as a Partner in the Engineering division and Global Head of AI Engineering and Science.\r\nIn his role, Daniel will work with Engineering leaders across the firm to help drive the further development and deployment of artificial intelligence platforms and products. He will work closely with leadership in the firm’s businesses to leverage the technology to help continue to enhance productivity and efficiency.\r\nWith over 30 years of experience in technology and academia, Daniel brings decades of experience in world class R&amp;D organizations to his new responsibilities. He joins the firm from Amazon’s Artificial General Intelligence organization, where he most recently served as vice president of Web and Knowledge Services. Prior to joining Amazon, Daniel was chief science officer at SDL plc, and chief technology and operations officer and chief executive officer of Language Weaver Inc., which he co-founded. He also worked at the Information Sciences Institute and University of Southern California for more than 20 years, including as director of Strategic Initiatives, research associate professor, and research scientist.\r\nDaniel is the author of an MIT Press book, as well as over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
